This year, we fancied going somewhere different for our annual pumpkin-picking adventure and wow, are we glad we did! After hearing so many amazing things about Sunnyfields Farm in Southampton, we decided to give it a try. The final push? When we heard they had created a massive pumpkin portrait tribute to Ozzy Osbourne! We’re huge Osbourne fans, so that completely sold it for us.
We’ve done plenty of pumpkin picking in Hampshire and West Sussex over the years, but Sunnyfields had been on our radar for a while. It’s one of the most talked-about pumpkin picking spots near Southampton, and this year they really went above and beyond. From themed displays and record breaking pumpkins to a glow maze and spooky walk through, this place has it all.
When we arrived, the atmosphere was buzzing! Families everywhere, kids with wheelbarrows full of pumpkins, and a fantastic mix of autumnal music and Halloween vibes. It felt like stepping straight into a festive autumn wonderland!
Record-Breaking Pumpkins & More!
We also didn’t expect to come face to face with a record-breaking pumpkin — yes, a real giant pumpkin on display! It was absolutely enormous and made our carefully chosen pumpkins look tiny by comparison. The kids were in awe (and maybe a little jealous!).
The Ozzy Osbourne Pumpkin Tribute
One of the highlights (and what drew us there in the first place!) was the incredible Ozzy Osbourne pumpkin portrait. The team at Sunnyfields created a giant portrait out of pumpkins as a tribute to the Prince of Darkness himself and it was genuinely jaw dropping. The attention to detail and sheer scale were unbelievable. It’s safe to say we took plenty of photos!
Our Verdict
If you’re looking for pumpkin picking in Hampshire that offers so much more than just pumpkins, Sunnyfields Farm in Southampton is the place to go. The combination of creativity, atmosphere, and family fun made it one of our favourite autumn days out ever.
We honestly had the best time and can’t recommend it enough. Whether you’re an Ozzy fan like us, love a spooky adventure, or just want some great family fun! Sunnyfields Farm pumpkin picking should be at the top of your list this Halloween season.
