Unlimited Fun at Clarence Pier
We started our day at the funfair and the boys couldn’t wait to get stuck in. One of the things we love about Clarence Pier is that there’s genuinely something for everyone, from toddlers right through to adrenaline-loving teenagers (and brave adults!).

The best part? Thanks to our unlimited wristbands, every time we heard “Can we go on that again?” the answer was a very easy YES!
The boys certainly made the most of it. While one ride on some of the bigger thrill rides was definitely enough for me, they happily went around again… and again… and again! I lost count of how many times they rode their favourites.
It’s so refreshing not having to count tokens or think about the cost of each ride. Once you’ve got your wristband on, you can simply relax and enjoy the day.
Lunch at the Famous Wimpy
After a busy morning, we stopped for lunch at Clarence Pier’s onsite Wimpy.
Now if, like me, you’re an 80s child, you’ll completely understand the excitement! Walking into Wimpy instantly transported me back to my childhood.
Did you know there are now only around 61 Wimpy restaurants left in the UK, making Clarence Pier’s restaurant quite a special find? While the chain may have disappeared from many high streets, it still has a loyal following thanks to its iconic burgers, thick milkshakes and nostalgic charm.
The food was every bit as good as I remembered, and we tried their fantastic Saver Menu, which offers brilliant value for families.
Saver meals start from just £4.90, making it an affordable option when you’re enjoying a full day out. There are also great-value children’s meals and plenty of family favourites on the menu. It’s proof that eating out during the school holidays doesn’t have to break the bank.
A Round at Putt Hutt
Next up was another fantastic part of our wristband package, Putt Hutt!
Putt Hutt is an 18-hole indoor adventure golf course themed around the seaside and Clarence Pier itself. Half the course features classic adventure golf obstacles, while the other half is inspired by iconic funfair attractions, making every hole completely different.
The theming is brilliant!
One hole features a full-size bumper car, another has a giant Ferris wheel, and there are colourful fairground touches everywhere you look.
We absolutely love adventure golf as a family, and this was definitely one of the most fun themed courses we’ve played.
My only complaint?
I didn’t win.
Yes… I was beaten by the children.
It’s still a sore subject and I’m absolutely not ready to discuss it.
Arcades and Ice Cream to Finish
No visit to Clarence Pier would be complete without a wander around the arcades before grabbing an ice cream for the journey home.
By this point we’d been there for hours and, for the first time this summer…
I had actually worn the kids out!
In fact, we enjoyed ourselves so much that we completely underestimated how long we’d be staying and even had to pop back to the car to add more parking!
It really is a full day out, not just somewhere to spend an hour or two.
Our Verdict
We genuinely had such a fantastic family day out.
The combination of unlimited rides, indoor adventure golf, delicious food at Wimpy, the arcades and seaside atmosphere meant we easily spent the whole day there. We’ll definitely be back… although next time I’m determined to beat the kids at adventure golf!
